The SV Series is available in seven models, progressing from the accessible SV-Lite to the flagship SV-28. The numbered models use 101% IACS solid-core pure copper conductors, copper-braided shielding, air insulation, and a rare-earth mineral composition designed to absorb unwanted RFI and EMI. As the number of conductors increases, each model is intended to provide greater scale, authority, and system support.
The SV Series represents a further development of GutWire’s high-performance power-cable design. Building on the experience of the earlier SP Series, each SV cable uses 101% IACS solid-core pure copper conductors to provide a highly stable and low-resistance power connection. The model number identifies the number of 16 AWG conductors used in the cable, allowing the range to offer progressively greater scale and current-handling capability as the design increases from the SV-6 through the larger models.
Each conductor is individually shielded with copper braid, while air is used as the primary insulation. The cables also incorporate a composition of natural rare-earth minerals intended to absorb unwanted RFI and EMI, helping maintain a quieter and more controlled electrical environment around the conductors. Together with the outer shield-grounding system, these design elements are intended to reduce distractions and allow the audio system to preserve greater clarity, texture, and dynamic expression.
The result is a power cable designed to provide a strong, composed foundation for high-performance audio systems. The SV Series combines the solidity and density of multiple solid-core copper conductors with GutWire’s emphasis on natural tonal balance, open soundstaging, and musical ease. As with every GutWire cable, each SV model is individually handcrafted in Canada and evaluated according to one essential standard: it must sound musical.
